In Search for the Ideal Project Management app

I was seeking an alternative for Notion and TogglTrack for project management. Preferable open-source. No matter how long I explored, I couldn’t find an alternative that had the features I wanted.

I wanted to merge my project management workflow with a time tracker. I ended up finding TogglPlan which is the project management companion to TogglTrack. Such irony.

Some alternatives had the option to log activities but no timers. I’m definitely not the type of customer they are seeking because their sales pitch is clearly towards teams and companies.

The other feature that I really wanted was mobile-friendliness. Probably because it’s a habit, I use a time tracker on mobile quite often.

I don’t have many particular gripes with TogglTrack. I’ve been using it for about three years without issue. My use case is probably unique. Seeing a clock that shows how long I’ve been at a task or how long I haven’t tracked anything works really well for my brain. Regardless, I downloaded all my data for archival purposes.
