Laptop Tech Issues

My laptop’s been having an issue and I’m not quite sure of the reason behind. I have it solved twice and want to keep the answer handy so here it goes.

The Issue(?)

When I turn on my laptop and the F11 key (which controls Airplane mode) stays orange, my laptop is unable to turn on the wifi, rendering it pretty useless.

The Solutions So Far

  1. Turn off laptop. Turn on and press ESC multiple times until bringing up the Menu > Keyboard Test > Go through the test > Boot laptop.
  2. Turn off laptop. Turn on and press ESC multiple times until bringing up the Menu > BIOS Menu > Update BIOS > Wait for updates to be installed > Wait for the laptop to boot up.

Backing up the files in my laptop has gone up in my list of priorities.
